IMPLEMENTATION
The project’s implementation addresses both short-term, medium-term and long-term needs:
Short-term needs:
- Empowerment of teachers and students to cultivate and implement metacognitive and ToM awareness’ skills
- Promotion of the Action Research participatory teachers and students’ development, which does not impose knowledge in the heads of the participants but help them to self- regulate their learning
- Enrichment of the teaching of Language through the development of metacognitive and ToM skills
- Highlighting the value of the collaboration among mentors, teachers, schools, students in the classroom for promoting communities of learning for self -regulating learning
Medium-term needs:
- Strengthening the communication and collaboration among partners and among teachers and their students
Long-term needs:
- Provide an accessible, permanent source of resources and tools for students’ metacognitive and ToM development for other interested teachers.
- Develop Key competences at School Education (i.e. Development of thinking skills) that will facilitate students to ‘learn how to learn’ through life; and
- Support teachers, school leaders and other teaching professions by providing them not only with the theoretical basis on Metacognition and ToM, but also with a training and a detailed educational program and a list of practical activities and teaching aids, so that they can promote their students’ thinking skills, facilitating their role.
